Steeves' Summary #48: "I
want your life!"
May 2008
We met Marissa for the
first time in August, immediately after our church presentation about
our Kenya mission. Marissa, with her dancing black curls and contagious
enthusiasm approached us that day and professed, "I want your life!"
Nine months later we had the privilege to see her off at the
airport to a 6 week mission trip to Kenya to do some church planting
and evangelism in a Muslim area. According to her mother,
Marissa has had a heart for Africa for many years. While growing up she
has approached her mother several times with the question,"Can I go to
Africa now?" Her mother would always answer no, feeling she
was too young to take on the challenge. Being asked one more time, her
mother finally agreed that once Marissa turned 20 she would have her
blessings. As Marissa headed for Kenya today, she was 20
and... 5 days old! Talk about an eager servant for foreign
missions! Please pray for Marissa along with her team members
as they do their ministry in Kenya.
Our
return to Kenya:
People have been asking
us when we are going to return to Kenya. We have submitted
our renewal to AIM as a first step towards returning to Kenya.
AIM would like us to be properly prepared to do our work in
Kenya. They want us to have some additional Bible training
before we go. They have some courses available through a
seminary in the US for us to do on our own. We plan to start
on these immediately. We will keep everyone up to date as
things progress.
Delight
yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
